CurveBall ("we", "us") runs curveball.in, a community where people share ideas and help each other build them. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Account details you give us: name, email address, city, the role you pick (Thinker, Builder, Mentor or Backer), arenas you care about, skills, a short bio, a website link and your availability.
- What you post and do: ideas, projects, comments, backs, offers of help, squads you join, projects you follow and reports you file.
- Technical data: sign-in times and basic logs our hosting providers keep to run the service securely (for example IP address and browser type).
We don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising trackers.
Why we use it
- To create your account and sign you in with a one-time email link.
- To show your ideas, projects and profile to the community, and to match people with the right skills to the right projects.
- To review posts, keep the community safe and enforce our Terms.
- To email you about your account and activity — for example when your idea is approved. You can turn off non-essential emails on your profile.
What's public
Your name, city, role, arenas, skills, bio, website and availability, plus anything you post (ideas, projects, comments), are visible to everyone. Your email address is never shown publicly; only CurveBall admins can see it.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase — database and sign-in, hosted in Mumbai, India.
- Netlify — website hosting.
- Resend — sending sign-in and notification emails.
These providers only process data to run CurveBall for us.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile and everything you posted are deleted straight away; backups and logs held by our providers expire on their normal schedules.
Your rights
- See and correct your data any time on your profile.
- Delete your account and data from your profile page, or by emailing us.
- Withdraw consent by deleting your account.
- Raise a concern with our grievance contact below. If you're not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
CurveBall is for people aged 18 and over. If you're under 18, please don't create an account.

Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we'll update the date above and let members know.
